Chapter 1
59And it happened that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to call him Zechariah, after his father. 60And yet his mother responded and said, 'No indeed; but he shall be called John.' 61And they said to her, 'There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name.' 62And they made signs to his father, as to what he wanted him called. 63And he asked for a tablet and wrote as follows, 'His name is John.' And they were all amazed. 64And at once his mouth was opened and his tongue freed, and he began speaking in praise of God. 65And fear came on all those who lived around them; and all these matters were being talked about in the entire hill country of Judea. 66All who heard them kept them in mind, saying, 'What then will this child turn out to be?' For indeed the hand of the Lord was with him.King James Version

And they marvelled all. 64And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God. 65And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea. 66And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.Christian Standard Bible

59When the baby was eight days old, they all came for the circumcision ceremony. They wanted to name him Zechariah, after his father. 60But Elizabeth said, 'No! His name is John!'
61What?' they exclaimed. 'There is no one in all your family by that name.'
62So they used gestures to ask the baby’s father what he wanted to name him.
63He motioned for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s surprise he wrote, 'His name is John.'
64Instantly Zechariah could speak again, and he began praising God.
