Luke 17:3-21
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 17
3Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.'
5The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith!'
6But the Lord said, 'If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.
7Now which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him after he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and recline at the table to eat’?
8On the contrary, will he not say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and properly clothe yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; and afterward you may eat and drink’?
9He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he?
10So you too, when you do all the things which were commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’?'
11While He was on the way to Jerusalem, He was passing between Samaria and Galilee.
12And as He entered a village, ten men with leprosy who stood at a distance met Him;
13and they raised their voices, saying, 'Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!'
14When He saw them, He said to them, 'Go and show yourselves to the priests.' And as they were going, they were cleansed.
15Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice,
16and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan.
17But Jesus responded and said, 'Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine—where are they?
18Was no one found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?'
19And He said to him, 'Stand up and go; your faith has made you well.'
King James Version
Chapter 17
3Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. 4And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
5And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
8And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed but where are the nine
18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Chapter 17
3Be on your guard. If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. 4And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and comes back to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him."
7"Which one of you having a servant tending sheep or plowing will say to him when he comes in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?
8Instead, will he not tell him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, get ready, and serve me while I eat and drink; later you can eat and drink’?
9Does he thank that servant because he did what was commanded?
10In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say, ‘We are worthless servants; we’ve only done our duty.’"
11While traveling to Jerusalem, he passed between Samaria and Galilee.
12As he entered a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance
13and raised their voices, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"
15But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned and, with a loud voice, gave glory to God.
16He fell facedown at his feet, thanking him. And he was a Samaritan.
New Living Translation
Chapter 17
3So watch yourselves! 'If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. 4Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.'
7When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, ‘Come in and eat with me’?
8No, he says, ‘Prepare my meal, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat. Then you can eat later.’
9And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not.
10In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’'
11As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria.
12As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance,
13crying out, 'Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!'
15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, 'Praise God!'
16He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.

5The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"

9Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded?
10So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’"
11On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.

Chapter 17
3So watch yourselves. "If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. 4Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them."
7"Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’?
8Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’?
9Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do?
10So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’ "
11Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
12As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance
13and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!"
15One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.
16He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
