Luke 18:4-9

Chapter 18

4For a while he was unwilling; but later he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect any person, 5yet because this widow is bothering me, I will give her justice; otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.’?' 6And the Lord said, 'Listen to what the unrighteous judge *said; 7now, will God not bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night, and will He delay long for them? 8I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?'
9Now He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:

4And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
9And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

4"For a while he was unwilling, but later he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or respect people, 5yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so that she doesn’t wear me out by her persistent coming.’"
6Then the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7Will not God grant justice to his elect who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay helping them? 8I tell you that he will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"
9He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else:

Chapter 18

4The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, 5but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’'
6Then the Lord said, 'Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. 7Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?'
9Then Jesus told this story to some who had great confidence in their own righteousness and scorned everyone else:

Will he delay long over them? 8I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

6And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
9To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:
