Luke 19:32-47
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 19
32So those who were sent left and found it just as He had told them. 33And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, 'Why are you untying the colt?' 34They said, 'The Lord has need of it.' 35And they brought it to Jesus, and they threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. 36Now as He was going, they were spreading their cloaks on the road. 37And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,
39And yet some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, 'Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!'
40Jesus replied, 'I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!'
41When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it,
42saying, 'If you had known on this day, even you, the conditions for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.
43For the days will come upon you when your enemies will put up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,
44and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.'
King James Version
33And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
34And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
35And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
36And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
38Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
41And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
42Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
43For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
44And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Chapter 19
32So those who were sent left and found it just as he had told them. 33As they were untying the young donkey, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the donkey?"
34"The Lord needs it," they said.
35Then they brought it to Jesus, and after throwing their clothes on the donkey, they helped Jesus get on it.
36As he was going along, they were spreading their clothes on the road.
37Now he came near the path down the Mount of Olives, and the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen:
41As he approached and saw the city, he wept for it,
42saying, "If you knew this day what would bring peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.
43For the days will come on you when your enemies will build a barricade around you, surround you, and hem you in on every side.
44They will crush you and your children among you to the ground, and they will not leave one stone on another in your midst, because you did not recognize the time when God visited you."
New Living Translation
Chapter 19
32So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said. 33And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, 'Why are you untying that colt?'
34And the disciples simply replied, 'The Lord needs it.'
35So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on.
36As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him.
37When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.
41But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep.
42How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes.
43Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side.
44They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you. '

Chapter 19
32So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them. 33And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?" 34And they said, "The Lord has need of it." 35And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it. 36And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. 37As he was drawing near — already on the way down the Mount of Olives — the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, 38saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" 39And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." 40He answered, "I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out."
41And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it,
42saying, "Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
43For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side
44and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation."
New International Version
Chapter 19
32Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. 33As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, "Why are you untying the colt?"
35They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.
36As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.
41As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it
42and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.
43The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.
44They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you."

Chapter 19
32So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. 33But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, “Why are you loosing the colt?”
34And they said, “The Lord has need of him.”
35Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him.
36And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road.
41Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,
42saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
43For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side,
44and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”
