Chapter 19

37And as soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,
38shouting: 'BLESSED IS the King, THE ONE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!'
39And yet some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, 'Teacher, rebuke Your disciples!' 40Jesus replied, 'I tell you, if these stop speaking, the stones will cry out!'
41When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it, 42saying, 'If you had known on this day, even you, the conditions for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.

37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
39And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. 41And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

37Now he came near the path down the Mount of Olives, and the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles they had seen:
38 Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven!
39Some of the Pharisees from the crowd told him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples."
40He answered, "I tell you, if they were to keep silent, the stones would cry out."
41As he approached and saw the city, he wept for it, 42saying, "If you knew this day what would bring peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.

Chapter 19

37When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.
38'Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!'
39But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, 'Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!'
40He replied, 'If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!'
41But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. 42How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes.

37As he was drawing near — already on the way down the Mount of Olives — the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, 38saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" 39And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." 40He answered, "I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out."
41And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42saying, "Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
