Chapter 23

31For if they do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?'
32Now two others, who were criminals, were also being led away to be put to death with Him.
33And when they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. 34[ But Jesus was saying, 'Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.'] And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves. 35And the people stood by, watching. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, 'He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the Christ of God, His Chosen One.'

31For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
32And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. 33And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. 34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. 35And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

And they divided his clothes and cast lots.
35The people stood watching, and even the leaders were scoffing: "He saved others; let him save himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!"

35The crowd watched and the leaders scoffed. 'He saved others,' they said, 'let him save himself if he is really God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.'
