Chapter 4
5And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6And the devil said to Him, 'I will give You all this domain and its glory, for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I want. 7Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours.' 8Jesus replied to him, 'It is written: ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE Lord YOUR God AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’?'
10for it is written: ‘HE WILL GIVE HIS ANGELS ORDERS CONCERNING YOU, TO PROTECT YOU,’
11and, ‘ON their hands they will lift YOU UP, SO THAT YOU DO NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.’?'
14And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding region.
15And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.
16And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.
17And the scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to Him. And He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written:

5And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. 8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
12And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

10For it is written: He will give his angels orders concerning you, to protect you,
11and they will support you with their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone."
14Then Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread throughout the entire vicinity.
15He was teaching in their synagogues, being praised by everyone.
16He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. As usual, he entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.
17The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him, and unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written:

5Then the devil took him up and revealed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6I will give you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them,' the devil said, 'because they are mine to give to anyone I please. 7I will give it all to you if you will worship me.'

11And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’ '
14Then Jesus returned to Galilee, filled with the Holy Spirit’s power. Reports about him spread quickly through the whole region.
15He taught regularly in their synagogues and was praised by everyone.
16When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.
17The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:

20And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.
21And he began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."
