Luke 9:2-10
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 9
2And He sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to perform healing. 3And He said to them, 'Take nothing for your journey, neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not even have two tunics. 4And whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that city. 5And as for all who do not receive you, when you leave that city, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.' 6And as they were leaving, they began going throughout the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
7Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening; and he was greatly perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead,
8and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the prophets of old had risen.
9Herod said, 'I myself had John beheaded; but who is this man about whom I hear such things?' And he kept trying to see Him.

Chapter 9
2And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 3And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece. 4And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart. 5And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. 6And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.Christian Standard Bible
3"Take nothing for the road," he told them, "no staff, no traveling bag, no bread, no money; and don’t take an extra shirt.
4Whatever house you enter, stay there and leave from there.
5If they do not welcome you, when you leave that town, shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them."
6So they went out and traveled from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing everywhere.
7Herod the tetrarch heard about everything that was going on. He was perplexed, because some said that John had been raised from the dead,
8some that Elijah had appeared, and others that one of the ancient prophets had risen.
9"I beheaded John," Herod said, "but who is this I hear such things about?" And he wanted to see him.

Chapter 9
2Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3Take nothing for your journey,' he instructed them. 'Don’t take a walking stick, a traveler’s bag, food, money, or even a change of clothes. 4Wherever you go, stay in the same house until you leave town. 5And if a town refuses to welcome you, shake its dust from your feet as you leave to show that you have abandoned those people to their fate.'English Standard Version

7Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was going on. And he was perplexed because some were saying that John had been raised from the dead,

9But Herod said, "I beheaded John. Who, then, is this I hear such things about?" And he tried to see him.
