Chapter 9

48and He said to them, 'Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.'
49John answered and said, 'Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him, because he does not follow along with us.' 50But Jesus said to him, 'Do not hinder him; for the one who is not against you is for you.'
51When the days were approaching for His ascension, He was determined to go to Jerusalem; 52and He sent messengers on ahead of Him, and they went and entered a village of the Samaritans to make arrangements for Him. 53And they did not receive Him, because He was traveling toward Jerusalem. 54When His disciples James and John saw this, they said, 'Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?' 55But He turned and rebuked them. 56And they went on to another village.
57As they were going on the road, someone said to Him, 'I will follow You wherever You go.' 58And Jesus said to him, 'The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.'

48And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
49And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. 50And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
51And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, 52And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
53And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. 54And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 56For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
57And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 58And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

49John responded, "Master, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to stop him because he does not follow us."
50"Don’t stop him," Jesus told him, "because whoever is not against you is for you."
51When the days were coming to a close for him to be taken up, he determined to journey to Jerusalem. 52He sent messengers ahead of himself, and on the way they entered a village of the Samaritans to make preparations for him. 53But they did not welcome him, because he determined to journey to Jerusalem. 54When the disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?"
55But he turned and rebuked them, 56and they went to another village.
57As they were traveling on the road someone said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go."
58Jesus told him, "Foxes have dens, and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

49John said to Jesus, 'Master, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons, but we told him to stop because he isn’t in our group.'
50But Jesus said, 'Don’t stop him! Anyone who is not against you is for you.'
51As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. 52He sent messengers ahead to a Samaritan village to prepare for his arrival. 53But the people of the village did not welcome Jesus because he was on his way to Jerusalem. 54When James and John saw this, they said to Jesus, 'Lord, should we call down fire from heaven to burn them up ?' 55But Jesus turned and rebuked them. 56So they went on to another village.
57As they were walking along, someone said to Jesus, 'I will follow you wherever you go.'
58But Jesus replied, 'Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.'
