41Hearing this, the other ten began to feel indignant with James and John.
42Calling them to Himself, Jesus *said to them, 'You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles domineer over them; and their people in high position exercise authority over them.
43But it is not this way among you; rather, whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant;
44and whoever wants to be first among you shall be slave of all.

40But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. 41And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John. 42But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.Christian Standard Bible

42Jesus called them over and said to them, "You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions act as tyrants over them.
43But it is not so among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you will be your servant,
44and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave to all.
