And the chief priests and the scribes heard
this,
and they
began
seeking how to put Him to death; for they were afraid of Him, because all the crowd was astonished at His teaching.
19
And whenever evening came, they would leave the city.
20
As they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots
up.
21
And being reminded, Peter *said to Him, 'Rabbi, look, the fig tree that You cursed has withered.'
22
And Jesus answered and *said to them, 'Have faith in God.

And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

And when even was come, he went out of the city.

And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

The chief priests and the scribes heard it and started looking for a way to kill him. For they were afraid of him, because the whole crowd was astonished by his teaching.

Whenever evening came, they would go out of the city.

Early in the morning, as they were passing by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up.

Then Peter remembered and said to him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered."

When the leading priests and teachers of religious law heard what Jesus had done, they began planning how to kill him. But they were afraid of him because the people were so amazed at his teaching.

That evening Jesus and the disciples left the city.

The next morning as they passed by the fig tree he had cursed, the disciples noticed it had withered from the roots up.
21
Peter remembered what Jesus had said to the tree on the previous day and exclaimed, 'Look, Rabbi! The fig tree you cursed has withered and died!'

Then Jesus said to the disciples, 'Have faith in God.
