Chapter 15

8And the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to do as he had been accustomed to do for them. 9Pilate answered them, saying, 'Do you want me to release for you the King of the Jews?' 10For he was aware that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy. 11But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to ask him to release Barabbas for them instead. 12And responding again, Pilate said to them, 'Then what shall I do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?' 13They shouted back, 'Crucify Him!' 14But Pilate said to them, 'Why, what evil has He done?' But they shouted all the more, 'Crucify Him!'

8And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them. 9But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? 10For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.
11But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. 12And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? 13And they cried out again, Crucify him. 14Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

8The crowd came up and began to ask Pilate to do for them as was his custom. 9Pilate answered them, "Do you want me to release the King of the Jews for you?" 10For he knew it was because of envy that the chief priests had handed him over. 11But the chief priests stirred up the crowd so that he would release Barabbas to them instead. 12Pilate asked them again, "Then what do you want me to do with the one you call the King of the Jews?"
13Again they shouted, "Crucify him!"
14Pilate said to them, "Why? What has he done wrong?" But they shouted all the more, "Crucify him!"

Chapter 15

8The crowd went to Pilate and asked him to release a prisoner as usual.
9Would you like me to release to you this ‘King of the Jews’?' Pilate asked. 10(For he realized by now that the leading priests had arrested Jesus out of envy.) 11But at this point the leading priests stirred up the crowd to demand the release of Barabbas instead of Jesus. 12Pilate asked them, 'Then what should I do with this man you call the king of the Jews?'
13They shouted back, 'Crucify him!'
14Why?' Pilate demanded. 'What crime has he committed?' But the mob roared even louder, 'Crucify him!'

13"Crucify him!" they shouted.
14"Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!"
