Chapter 2

7Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins except God alone?' 8Immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were thinking that way within themselves, *said to them, 'Why are you thinking about these things in your hearts?

8Right away Jesus perceived in his spirit that they were thinking like this within themselves and said to them, "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?

8Jesus knew immediately what they were thinking, so he asked them, 'Why do you question this in your hearts?
