Mark 8:17-32
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 8
17And Jesus, aware of this, *said to them, 'Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread? Do you not yet comprehend or understand? Do you still have your heart hardened? 18HAVING EYES, DO YOU NOT SEE? AND HAVING EARS, DO YOU NOT HEAR? And do you not remember, 19when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?' They *said to Him, 'Twelve.' 20When I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?' And they *said to Him, 'Seven.' 21And He was saying to them, 'Do you not yet understand?'
22And they *came to Bethsaida. And some people *brought a man who was blind to Jesus and *begged Him to touch him.
23Taking the man who was blind by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting in his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, 'Do you see anything?'
24And he looked up and said, 'I see people, for I see them like trees, walking around.'
25Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly.
26And He sent him to his home, saying, 'Do not even enter the village.'
27Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, 'Who do people say that I am?'
28They told Him, saying, 'John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.'
29And He continued questioning them: 'But who do you say that I am?' Peter answered and *said to Him, 'You are the Christ.'
30And He warned them to tell no one about Him.

Chapter 8
17Aware of this, he said to them, "Why are you discussing the fact you have no bread? Don’t you understand or comprehend? Do you have hardened hearts? 18Do you have eyes and not see; do you have ears and not hear? And do you not remember?
22They came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch him.
23He took the blind man by the hand and brought him out of the village. Spitting on his eyes and laying his hands on him, he asked him, "Do you see anything?"
25Again Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes. The man looked intently and his sight was restored and he saw everything clearly.
26Then he sent him home, saying, "Don’t even go into the village."
New Living Translation
Chapter 8
17Jesus knew what they were saying, so he said, 'Why are you arguing about having no bread? Don’t you know or understand even yet? Are your hearts too hard to take it in? 18‘You have eyes — can’t you see? You have ears — can’t you hear?’ Don’t you remember anything at all?
22When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch the man and heal him.
23Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, 'Can you see anything now?'
25Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly.
26Jesus sent him away, saying, 'Don’t go back into the village on your way home.'
31Then Jesus began to tell them that the Son of Man must suffer many terrible things and be rejected by the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but three days later he would rise from the dead.
32As he talked about this openly with his disciples, Peter took him aside and began to reprimand him for saying such things.
