Chapter 8

19when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces you picked up?' They *said to Him, 'Twelve.' 20When I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of broken pieces did you pick up?' And they *said to Him, 'Seven.' 21And He was saying to them, 'Do you not yet understand?'
22And they *came to Bethsaida. And some people *brought a man who was blind to Jesus and *begged Him to touch him. 23Taking the man who was blind by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting in his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, 'Do you see anything?' 24And he looked up and said, 'I see people, for I see them like trees, walking around.' 25Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly. 26And He sent him to his home, saying, 'Do not even enter the village.'
27Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, 'Who do people say that I am?' 28They told Him, saying, 'John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.' 29And He continued questioning them: 'But who do you say that I am?' Peter answered and *said to Him, 'You are the Christ.' 30And He warned them to tell no one about Him.
31And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise from the dead.

22And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. 23And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. 24And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. 25After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. 26And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.
27And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am 28And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. 29And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. 30And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.
31And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

20"When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you collect?" "Seven," they said.
21And he said to them, "Don’t you understand yet?"
22They came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch him. 23He took the blind man by the hand and brought him out of the village. Spitting on his eyes and laying his hands on him, he asked him, "Do you see anything?"
24He looked up and said, "I see people—they look like trees walking."
25Again Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes. The man looked intently and his sight was restored and he saw everything clearly. 26Then he sent him home, saying, "Don’t even go into the village."
27Jesus went out with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the road he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that I am?"
28They answered him, "John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, one of the prophets."
29"But you," he asked them, "who do you say that I am?" Peter answered him, "You are the Messiah." 30And he strictly warned them to tell no one about him.
31Then he began to teach them that it was necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and rise after three days.

Chapter 8

19When I fed the 5,000 with five loaves of bread, how many baskets of leftovers did you pick up afterward?' 'Twelve,' they said.
20And when I fed the 4,000 with seven loaves, how many large baskets of leftovers did you pick up?' 'Seven,' they said.
21Don’t you understand yet?' he asked them.
22When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man to Jesus, and they begged him to touch the man and heal him. 23Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, 'Can you see anything now?'
24The man looked around. 'Yes,' he said, 'I see people, but I can’t see them very clearly. They look like trees walking around.'
25Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again, and his eyes were opened. His sight was completely restored, and he could see everything clearly. 26Jesus sent him away, saying, 'Don’t go back into the village on your way home.'
27Jesus and his disciples left Galilee and went up to the villages near Caesarea Philippi. As they were walking along, he asked them, 'Who do people say I am?'
28Well,' they replied, 'some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other prophets.'
29Then he asked them, 'But who do you say I am?' Peter replied, 'You are the Messiah. '
30But Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.
31Then Jesus began to tell them that the Son of Man must suffer many terrible things and be rejected by the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but three days later he would rise from the dead.
