Mark 9:1-8
New American Standard Bible
2And six days later Jesus *took with Him Peter, James, and John, and *brought them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them;
3and His garments became radiant and exceedingly white, as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
4And Elijah appeared to them along with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.
5Peter responded and *said to Jesus, 'Rabbi, it is good that we are here; let’s make three tabernacles, one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.'
6For he did not know how to reply; for they became terrified.
7Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud: 'This is My beloved Son; listen to Him!'
8And suddenly they looked around and saw no one with them anymore, except Jesus alone.
King James Version
2And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Christian Standard Bible
2After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain by themselves to be alone. He was transfigured in front of them,
3and his clothes became dazzling—extremely white as no launderer on earth could whiten them.
4Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
5Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it’s good for us to be here. Let us set up three shelters: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah"—
6because he did not know what to say, since they were terrified.
New Living Translation
2Six days later Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone. As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed,
3and his clothes became dazzling white, far whiter than any earthly bleach could ever make them.
4Then Elijah and Moses appeared and began talking with Jesus.
English Standard Version
2And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them,
3and his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one on earth could bleach them.
4And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
5And Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi, it is good that we are here. Let us make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."
6For he did not know what to say, for they were terrified.
7And a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came out of the cloud, "This is my beloved Son; listen to him."
8And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus only.
New International Version
2After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them.
3His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them.
4And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.
New King James Version
2Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up on a high mountain apart by themselves; and He was transfigured before them.
3His clothes became shining, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
4And Elijah appeared to them with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.
5Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”—
6because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid.
