Chapter 9

24Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, 'I do believe; help my unbelief!' 25When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, 'You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and do not enter him again!' 26And after crying out and throwing him into terrible convulsions, it came out; and the boy became so much like a corpse that most of them said, 'He is dead!' 27But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him, and he got up. 28When He came into the house, His disciples began asking Him privately, 'Why is it that we could not cast it out?' 29And He said to them, 'This kind cannot come out by anything except prayer.'
30And from there they went out and began to go through Galilee, and He did not want anyone to know about it.

24And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 25When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. 26And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. 27But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. 28And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
30And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.

26Then it came out, shrieking and throwing him into terrible convulsions. The boy became like a corpse, so that many said, "He’s dead." 27But Jesus, taking him by the hand, raised him, and he stood up.
28After he had gone into the house, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn’t we drive it out?"
29And he told them, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer."
30Then they left that place and made their way through Galilee, but he did not want anyone to know it.

Chapter 9

24The father instantly cried out, 'I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!'
25When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. 'Listen, you spirit that makes this boy unable to hear and speak,' he said. 'I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!'
26Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd as people said, 'He’s dead.' 27But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.
28Afterward, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him, 'Why couldn’t we cast out that evil spirit?'
29Jesus replied, 'This kind can be cast out only by prayer. '
30Leaving that region, they traveled through Galilee. Jesus didn’t want anyone to know he was there,

25When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again."
26The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He’s dead." 27But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.
28After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn’t we drive it out?"
29He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer. "
