Chapter 9

27But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him, and he got up. 28When He came into the house, His disciples began asking Him privately, 'Why is it that we could not cast it out?' 29And He said to them, 'This kind cannot come out by anything except prayer.'
30And from there they went out and began to go through Galilee, and He did not want anyone to know about it. 31For He was teaching His disciples and telling them, 'The Son of Man is to be handed over to men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later.' 32But they did not understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask Him.
33They came to Capernaum; and when He was in the house, He began to question them: 'What were you discussing on the way?'

27But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. 28And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
30And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it. 31For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. 32But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.
33And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way

They will kill him, and after he is killed, he will rise three days later." 32But they did not understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask him.
33They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, "What were you arguing about on the way?"

27But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.
28Afterward, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him, 'Why couldn’t we cast out that evil spirit?'
29Jesus replied, 'This kind can be cast out only by prayer. '
30Leaving that region, they traveled through Galilee. Jesus didn’t want anyone to know he was there, 31for he wanted to spend more time with his disciples and teach them. He said to them, 'The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead.' 32They didn’t understand what he was saying, however, and they were afraid to ask him what he meant.
33After they arrived at Capernaum and settled in a house, Jesus asked his disciples, 'What were you discussing out on the road?'
