Chapter 14
16But Jesus said to them, 'They do not need to go; you give them something to eat!' 17They *said to Him, 'We have nothing here except five loaves and two fish.' 18And He said, 'Bring them here to Me.' 19And ordering the crowds to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looked up toward heaven. He blessed the food and breaking the loaves, He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 20And they all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up what was left over of the broken pieces: twelve full baskets. 21There were about five thousand men who ate, besides women and children.
22Immediately afterward He compelled the disciples to get into the boat and to go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away.
23After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.
24But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary.
25And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea.
26When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, 'It is a ghost!' And they cried out in fear.
27But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.'
28Peter responded and said to Him, 'Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.'
29And He said, 'Come!' And Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.
30But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying, 'Lord, save me!'
31Immediately Jesus reached out with His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, 'You of little faith, why did you doubt?'
32When they got into the boat, the wind stopped.

16But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. 17And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. 18He said, Bring them hither to me. 19And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. 20And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
22And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
24But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt
32And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

20Everyone ate and was satisfied. They picked up twelve baskets full of leftover pieces.
21Now those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
22Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.
23After dismissing the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. Well into the night, he was there alone.
24Meanwhile, the boat was already some distance from land, battered by the waves, because the wind was against them.
25Jesus came toward them walking on the sea very early in the morning.
26When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. "It’s a ghost!" they said, and they cried out in fear.
New Living Translation
18Bring them here,' he said.
19Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people.
20They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers.
21About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!
22Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home.
23After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.
24Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.
25About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
26When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, 'It’s a ghost!'
