Matthew 14:22-36
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 14
22Immediately afterward He compelled the disciples to get into the boat and to go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away. 23After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone. 24But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary. 25And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. 26When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, 'It is a ghost!' And they cried out in fear. 27But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.'
28Peter responded and said to Him, 'Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.'
29And He said, 'Come!' And Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.
30But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying, 'Lord, save me!'
31Immediately Jesus reached out with His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, 'You of little faith, why did you doubt?'
32When they got into the boat, the wind stopped.
33And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, 'You are truly God’s Son!'
34When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret.
35And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent word into all that surrounding region and brought to Him all who were sick;
36and they pleaded with Him that they might just touch the border of His cloak; and all who touched it were cured.

Chapter 14
22And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. 23And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. 24But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt 32And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. 33Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
34And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
35And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
36And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.

Chapter 14
22Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. 23After dismissing the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. Well into the night, he was there alone. 24Meanwhile, the boat was already some distance from land, battered by the waves, because the wind was against them. 25Jesus came toward them walking on the sea very early in the morning. 26When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. "It’s a ghost!" they said, and they cried out in fear.
29He said, "Come." And climbing out of the boat, Peter started walking on the water and came toward Jesus.
30But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me!"

Chapter 14
22Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. 23After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone.
24Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.
25About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
26When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, 'It’s a ghost!'
29Yes, come,' Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.
30But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. 'Save me, Lord!' he shouted.
32When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.
33Then the disciples worshiped him. 'You really are the Son of God!' they exclaimed.
34After they had crossed the lake, they landed at Gennesaret.
35When the people recognized Jesus, the news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area, and soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed.
36They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.
