Matthew 19:9-27
New American Standard Bible
10The disciples *said to Him, 'If the relationship of the man with his wife is like this, it is better not to marry.'
11But He said to them, 'Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given.
12For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by people; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who is able to accept this, let him accept it.'
13Then some children were brought to Him so that He would lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.
14But Jesus said, 'Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'
15After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.
16And someone came to Him and said, 'Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain eternal life?'
17And He said to him, 'Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.'
18Then he *said to Him, 'Which ones?' And Jesus said, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT GIVE FALSE TESTIMONY;
19HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
20The young man *said to Him, 'All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?'
21Jesus said to him, 'If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.'
22But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
23And Jesus said to His disciples, 'Truly I say to you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.'
25When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, 'Then who can be saved?'
26And looking at them, Jesus said to them, 'With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'
King James Version
Chapter 19
9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. 10His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry. 11But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. 12For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
13Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
16And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18He saith unto him, Which Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

11He responded, "Not everyone can accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been given.
12For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb, there are eunuchs who were made by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves that way because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who is able to accept it should accept it."
13Then children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.
14Jesus said, "Leave the children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to me, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
15After placing his hands on them, he went on from there.
18"Which ones?" he asked him. Jesus answered: Do not murder; do not commit adultery; do not steal; do not bear false witness;
19honor your father and your mother; and love your neighbor as yourself.
New Living Translation
11Not everyone can accept this statement,' Jesus said. 'Only those whom God helps.
12Some are born as eunuchs, some have been made eunuchs by others, and some choose not to marry for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.'
14But Jesus said, 'Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.'
15And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.
18Which ones?' the man asked. And Jesus replied: '‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely.
19Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.’ '
