Matthew 24:3-20
New American Standard Bible
4And Jesus answered and said to them, 'See to it that no one misleads you.
5For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will mislead many people.
6And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.
7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pains.
9Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.
10And at that time many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another.
11And many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people.
12And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold.
13But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved.
14This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
15Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place— let the reader understand—
16then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.
17Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get things out of his house.
18And whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.
19But woe to those women who are pregnant, and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
20Moreover, pray that when you flee, it will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath.
King James Version
Chapter 24
3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

4Jesus replied to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you.
5For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many.
6You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet.
7For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8All these events are the beginning of labor pains.
9"Then they will hand you over to be persecuted, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name.
10Then many will fall away, betray one another, and hate one another.
11Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
12Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold.
13But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
14This good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15"So when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place" (let the reader understand),
16"then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.
17A man on the housetop must not come down to get things out of his house,
18and a man in the field must not go back to get his coat.
19Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days!
20Pray that your escape may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.
New Living Translation
4Jesus told them, 'Don’t let anyone mislead you,
5for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many.
6And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately.
7Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.
8But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.
9Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.
10And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other.
11And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people.
12Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.
13But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
14And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.
15The day is coming when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about — the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place.' (Reader, pay attention!)
16Then those in Judea must flee to the hills.
17A person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack.
18A person out in the field must not return even to get a coat.
19How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days.
20And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
