Chapter 4
14That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 15The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; 16The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.Christian Standard Bible
15 Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, along the road by the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.
16 The people who live in darkness have seen a great light, and for those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.
18As he was walking along the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter), and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea—for they were fishermen.
19"Follow me," he told them, "and I will make you fish for people."
20Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
New Living Translation
15'In the land of Zebulun and of Naphtali, beside the sea, beyond the Jordan River, in Galilee where so many Gentiles live,
16the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.'
18One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers — Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew — throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living.
19Jesus called out to them, 'Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!'
20And they left their nets at once and followed him.
