Chapter 8

28And when He came to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men confronted Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremely violent that no one could pass by that way. 29And they cried out, saying, 'What business do You have with us, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?' 30Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding at a distance from them. 31And the demons begged Him, saying, 'If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of pigs.' 32And He said to them, 'Go!' And they came out and went into the pigs; and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters.

28And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? 30And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. 31So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. 32And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

They were so violent that no one could pass that way. 29Suddenly they shouted, "What do you have to do with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"
30A long way off from them, a large herd of pigs was feeding. 31"If you drive us out," the demons begged him, "send us into the herd of pigs."
32"Go!" he told them. So when they had come out, they entered the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the water.

28When Jesus arrived on the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gadarenes, two men who were possessed by demons met him. They came out of the tombs and were so violent that no one could go through that area.
29They began screaming at him, 'Why are you interfering with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before God’s appointed time?'
30There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding in the distance. 31So the demons begged, 'If you cast us out, send us into that herd of pigs.'
32All right, go!' Jesus commanded them. So the demons came out of the men and entered the pigs, and the whole herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water.
