Micah 3:1-8
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 3
1And I said, 'Hear now, you leaders of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel: Is it not for you to know justice? 2You who hate good and love evil, Who tear off their skin from them And their flesh from their bones, 3Who eat the flesh of my people, Strip off their skin from them, Smash their bones, And chop them up as for the pot, And as meat in a cauldron!'
6Therefore it will be night for you—without vision, And darkness for you—without divination. The sun will go down on the prophets, And the day will become dark over them.
7The seers will be put to shame, And the diviners will be ashamed. Indeed, they will all cover their lips Because there is no answer from God.
8On the other hand, I am filled with power— With the Spirit of the Lord— And with justice and courage To make known to Jacob his rebellious act, And to Israel his sin.

Chapter 3
1Then I said, "Now listen, leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Aren’t you supposed to know what is just? 2You hate good and love evil. You tear off people’s skin and strip their flesh from their bones. 3You eat the flesh of my people after you strip their skin from them and break their bones. You chop them up like flesh for the cooking pot, like meat in a cauldron." 4Then they will cry out to the Lord, but he will not answer them. He will hide his face from them at that time because of the crimes they have committed. 5This is what the Lord says concerning the prophets who lead my people astray, who proclaim peace when they have food to sink their teeth into but declare war against the one who puts nothing in their mouths. 6Therefore, it will be night for you— without visions; it will grow dark for you— without divination. The sun will set on these prophets, and the daylight will turn black over them.New Living Translation
Chapter 3
1I said, 'Listen, you leaders of Israel! You are supposed to know right from wrong, 2but you are the very ones who hate good and love evil. You skin my people alive and tear the flesh from their bones. 3Yes, you eat my people’s flesh, strip off their skin, and break their bones. You chop them up like meat for the cooking pot. 4Then you beg the Lord for help in times of trouble! Do you really expect him to answer? After all the evil you have done, he won’t even look at you!'
5This is what the Lord says: 'You false prophets are leading my people astray! You promise peace for those who give you food, but you declare war on those who refuse to feed you.
6Now the night will close around you, cutting off all your visions. Darkness will cover you, putting an end to your predictions. The sun will set for you prophets, and your day will come to an end.
7Then you seers will be put to shame, and you fortune-tellers will be disgraced. And you will cover your faces because there is no answer from God.'

Chapter 3
1And I said: Hear, you heads of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel! Is it not for you to know justice? — 2you who hate the good and love the evil, who tear the skin from off my people and their flesh from off their bones, 3 who eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones in pieces and chop them up like meat in a pot, like flesh in a cauldron. 4 Then they will cry to the Lord, but he will not answer them; he will hide his face from them at that time, because they have made their deeds evil. 5Thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who lead my people astray, who cry "Peace" when they have something to eat, but declare war against him who puts nothing into their mouths. 6Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision, and darkness to you, without divination. The sun shall go down on the prophets, and the day shall be black over them; 7 the seers shall be disgraced, and the diviners put to shame; they shall all cover their lips, for there is no answer from God. 8But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.New International Version
Chapter 3
1Then I said, "Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel. Should you not embrace justice, 2you who hate good and love evil; who tear the skin from my people and the flesh from their bones;
3who eat my people’s flesh, strip off their skin and break their bones in pieces; who chop them up like meat for the pan, like flesh for the pot?"
4Then they will cry out to the Lord, but he will not answer them. At that time he will hide his face from them because of the evil they have done.
5This is what the Lord says: "As for the prophets who lead my people astray, they proclaim ‘peace’ if they have something to eat, but prepare to wage war against anyone who refuses to feed them.
6Therefore night will come over you, without visions, and darkness, without divination. The sun will set for the prophets, and the day will go dark for them.
7The seers will be ashamed and the diviners disgraced. They will all cover their faces because there is no answer from God."
