Numbers 1-2
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
1Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, every male, head by head 3from twenty years old and upward, whoever is able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall count them by their armies. 4With you, moreover, there shall be a man of each tribe, each one head of his father’s household. 5These then are the names of the men who shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur; 6of the tribe of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai; 7of the tribe of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab; 8of Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar; 9of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon; 10of the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur; 11of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni; 12of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai; 13of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran; 14of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel; 15of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan. 16These are the men who were called from the congregation, the leaders of their fathers’ tribes; they were the heads of divisions of Israel.'
17So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,
18and they assembled all the congregation on the first day of the second month. Then they registered by ancestry in their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, head by head,
19just as the Lord had commanded Moses. So he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20Now the sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
21their numbered men of the tribe of Reuben were 46,500.
22Of the sons of Simeon, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, their numbered men, according to the number of names, head by head, every male from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
23their numbered men of the tribe of Simeon were 59,300.
24Of the sons of Gad, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
25their numbered men of the tribe of Gad were 45,650.
26Of the sons of Judah, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
27their numbered men of the tribe of Judah were 74,600.
28Of the sons of Issachar, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
29their numbered men of the tribe of Issachar were 54,400.
30Of the sons of Zebulun, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
31their numbered men of the tribe of Zebulun were 57,400.
32Of the sons of Joseph, namely, of the sons of Ephraim, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
33their numbered men of the tribe of Ephraim were 40,500.
34Of the sons of Manasseh, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
35their numbered men of the tribe of Manasseh were 32,200.
36Of the sons of Benjamin, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
37their numbered men of the tribe of Benjamin were 35,400.
38Of the sons of Dan, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
39their numbered men of the tribe of Dan were 62,700.
40Of the sons of Asher, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
41their numbered men of the tribe of Asher were 41,500.
42Of the sons of Naphtali, their descendants by their families, by their fathers’ households, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war,
43their numbered men of the tribe of Naphtali were 53,400.
44These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron counted, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each of whom was of his father’s household.
45So all the numbered men of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ households, from twenty years old and upward, whoever was able to go to war in Israel,
46all the numbered men were 603,550.
47The Levites, however, were not counted among them by their fathers’ tribe.
48For the Lord had spoken to Moses, saying,
49Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, nor shall you take their census among the sons of Israel.
50And you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings and over everything that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it; they shall also camp around the tabernacle.
51So when the tabernacle is to move on, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle encamps, the Levites shall set it up. But the layman who comes near it shall be put to death.
52So the sons of Israel shall camp, each man by his own camp, and each man by his own flag, according to their armies.
53But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be no divine wrath against the congregation of the sons of Israel. So the Levites shall be responsible for service to the tabernacle of the testimony.'
54And the sons of Israel did so; in accordance with all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so they did.
Chapter 2
1Now the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 2The sons of Israel shall camp, each by his own flag, with the banners of their fathers’ households; they shall camp around the tent of meeting at a distance. 3Now those who camp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be of the flag of the camp of Judah, by their armies; and the leader of the sons of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab, 4and his army, their numbered men: 74,600. 5Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar; and the leader of the sons of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar, 6and his army, their numbered men: 54,400. 7Then follows the tribe of Zebulun; and the leader of the sons of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Helon, 8and his army, his numbered men: 57,400. 9The total of the numbered men of the camp of Judah: 186,400, by their armies. They shall set out first.
10On the south side shall be the flag of the camp of Reuben by their armies; and the leader of the sons of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur,
11and his army, their numbered men: 46,500.
12And those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon; and the leader of the sons of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai,
13and his army, their numbered men: 59,300.
14Then follows the tribe of Gad; and the leader of the sons of Gad: Eliasaph the son of Deuel,
15and his army, their numbered men: 45,650.
16The total of the numbered men of the camp of Reuben: 151,450 by their armies. And they shall set out second.
18On the west side shall be the flag of the camp of Ephraim by their armies; and the leader of the sons of Ephraim: Elishama the son of Ammihud,
19and his army, their numbered men: 40,500.
20Next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh; and the leader of the sons of Manasseh: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur,
21and his army, their numbered men, 32,200.
22Then follows the tribe of Benjamin; and the leader of the sons of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gideoni,
23and his army, their numbered men, 35,400.
24The total of the numbered men of the camp of Ephraim: 108,100, by their armies. And they shall set out third.
25On the north side shall be the flag of the camp of Dan by their armies; and the leader of the sons of Dan: Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai,
26and his army, their numbered men: 62,700.
27Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher; and the leader of the sons of Asher: Pagiel the son of Ochran,
28and his army, their numbered men: 41,500.
29Then follows the tribe of Naphtali; and the leader of the sons of Naphtali: Ahira the son of Enan,
30and his army, their numbered men: 53,400.
31The total of the numbered men of the camp of Dan was 157,600. They shall set out last by their flags.'
32These are the numbered men of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ households; the total of the numbered men of the camps by their armies, 603,550.
33The Levites, however, were not counted among the sons of Israel, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
34So the sons of Israel did all this; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so they camped by their flags, and so they set out, everyone by his family according to his father’s household.

23Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.

Chapter 2
1And the Lord spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 2Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch. 3And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah. 4And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.

32These are those which were numbered of the children of Israel by the house of their fathers: all those that were numbered of the camps throughout their hosts were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

Chapter 1
1The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Wilderness of Sinai, on the first day of the second month of the second year after Israel’s departure from the land of Egypt: 2"Take a census of the entire Israelite community by their clans and their fathers’ families, counting the names of every male one by one. 3You and Aaron are to register those who are twenty years old or more by their military divisions—everyone who can serve in Israel’s army. 4A man from each tribe is to be with you, each one the head of his ancestral family.
17So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,
18and they assembled the whole community on the first day of the second month. They recorded their ancestry by their clans and their ancestral families, counting one by one the names of those twenty years old or more,
19just as the Lord commanded Moses. He registered them in the Wilderness of Sinai:
20The descendants of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
21those registered for the tribe of Reuben numbered 46,500.
22The descendants of Simeon: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, those registered counting one by one the names of every male twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
23those registered for the tribe of Simeon numbered 59,300.
24The descendants of Gad: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
25those registered for the tribe of Gad numbered 45,650.
26The descendants of Judah: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
27those registered for the tribe of Judah numbered 74,600.
28The descendants of Issachar: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
29those registered for the tribe of Issachar numbered 54,400.
30The descendants of Zebulun: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
31those registered for the tribe of Zebulun numbered 57,400.
32The descendants of Joseph: The descendants of Ephraim: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
33those registered for the tribe of Ephraim numbered 40,500.
34The descendants of Manasseh: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
35those registered for the tribe of Manasseh numbered 32,200.
36The descendants of Benjamin: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
37those registered for the tribe of Benjamin numbered 35,400.
38The descendants of Dan: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
39those registered for the tribe of Dan numbered 62,700.
40The descendants of Asher: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
41those registered for the tribe of Asher numbered 41,500.
42The descendants of Naphtali: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
43those registered for the tribe of Naphtali numbered 53,400.
44These are the men Moses and Aaron registered, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel; each represented his ancestral family.
45So all the Israelites twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in Israel’s army, were registered by their ancestral families.
46All those registered numbered 603,550.
47But the Levites were not registered with them by their ancestral tribe.
48For the Lord had told Moses:
49"Do not register or take a census of the tribe of Levi with the other Israelites.
50Appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They are to transport the tabernacle and all its articles, take care of it, and camp around it.
51Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to stop at a campsite, the Levites are to set it up. Any unauthorized person who comes near it is to be put to death.
52"The Israelites are to camp by their military divisions, each man with his encampment and under his banner.
53The Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the Israelite community."
54The Israelites did everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

23His military division numbers 35,400.
24The total in their military divisions who belong to Ephraim’s encampment number 108,100; they will move out third.
25Dan’s military divisions will camp on the north side under their banner. The leader of the Danites is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
26His military division numbers 62,700.
27The tribe of Asher will camp next to it. The leader of the Asherites is Pagiel son of Ochran.
28His military division numbers 41,500.
29The tribe of Naphtali will be next. The leader of the Naphtalites is Ahira son of Enan.
30His military division numbers 53,400.
31The total number who belong to Dan’s encampment is 157,600; they are to move out last, with their banners."
New Living Translation
Chapter 1
1A year after Israel’s departure from Egypt, the Lord spoke to Moses in the Tabernacle in the wilderness of Sinai. On the first day of the second month of that year he said, 2From the whole community of Israel, record the names of all the warriors by their clans and families. List all the men 3twenty years old or older who are able to go to war. You and Aaron must register the troops, 4and you will be assisted by one family leader from each tribe.
5These are the tribes and the names of the leaders who will assist you: Reuben — Elizur son of Shedeur
6Simeon — Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai
7Judah — Nahshon son of Amminadab
8Issachar — Nethanel son of Zuar
9Zebulun — Eliab son of Helon
10Ephraim son of Joseph — Elishama son of Ammihud Manasseh son of Joseph — Gamaliel son of Pedahzur
11Benjamin — Abidan son of Gideoni
12Dan — Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai
13Asher — Pagiel son of Ocran
14Gad — Eliasaph son of Deuel
15Naphtali — Ahira son of Enan
17So Moses and Aaron called together these chosen leaders,
18and they assembled the whole community of Israel on that very day. All the people were registered according to their ancestry by their clans and families. The men of Israel who were twenty years old or older were listed one by one,
19just as the Lord had commanded Moses. So Moses recorded their names in the wilderness of Sinai.

21This is the number of men twenty years old or older who were able to go to war, as their names were listed in the records of their clans and families: Reuben (Jacob’s oldest son) — 46,500

45They were registered by families — all the men of Israel who were twenty years old or older and able to go to war.
46The total number was 603,550.
47But this total did not include the Levites.
48For the Lord had said to Moses,
49Do not include the tribe of Levi in the registration; do not count them with the rest of the Israelites.
50Put the Levites in charge of the Tabernacle of the Covenant, along with all its furnishings and equipment. They must carry the Tabernacle and all its furnishings as you travel, and they must take care of it and camp around it.
51Whenever it is time for the Tabernacle to move, the Levites will take it down. And when it is time to stop, they will set it up again. But any unauthorized person who goes too near the Tabernacle must be put to death.
52Each tribe of Israel will camp in a designated area with its own family banner.
53But the Levites will camp around the Tabernacle of the Covenant to protect the community of Israel from the Lord’s anger. The Levites are responsible to stand guard around the Tabernacle.'
Chapter 2
1Then the Lord gave these instructions to Moses and Aaron: 2When the Israelites set up camp, each tribe will be assigned its own area. The tribal divisions will camp beneath their family banners on all four sides of the Tabernacle, but at some distance from it.
3
4'The divisions of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun are to camp toward the sunrise on the east side of the Tabernacle, beneath their family banners. These are the names of the tribes, their leaders, and the numbers of their registered troops: Judah — Nahshon son of Amminadab — 74,600
5
6Issachar — Nethanel son of Zuar — 54,400
7
8Zebulun — Eliab son of Helon — 57,400
10
11'The divisions of Reuben, Simeon, and Gad are to camp on the south side of the Tabernacle, beneath their family banners. These are the names of the tribes, their leaders, and the numbers of their registered troops: Reuben — Elizur son of Shedeur — 46,500

14
15Gad — Eliasaph son of Deuel — 45,650

34So the people of Israel did everything as the Lord had commanded Moses. Each clan and family set up camp and marched under their banners exactly as the Lord had instructed them.

50But appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings, and they shall take care of it and shall camp around the tabernacle.

Chapter 1
1The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said: 2"Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one. 3You and Aaron are to count according to their divisions all the men in Israel who are twenty years old or more and able to serve in the army. 4One man from each tribe, each of them the head of his family, is to help you.
17Moses and Aaron took these men whose names had been specified,
18and they called the whole community together on the first day of the second month. The people registered their ancestry by their clans and families, and the men twenty years old or more were listed by name, one by one,
19as the Lord commanded Moses. And so he counted them in the Desert of Sinai:

43The number from the tribe of Naphtali was 53,400.
44These were the men counted by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.
45All the Israelites twenty years old or more who were able to serve in Israel’s army were counted according to their families.
46The total number was 603,550.
47The ancestral tribe of the Levites, however, was not counted along with the others.
48The Lord had said to Moses:
49"You must not count the tribe of Levi or include them in the census of the other Israelites.
50Instead, appoint the Levites to be in charge of the tabernacle of the covenant law—over all its furnishings and everything belonging to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and encamp around it.
51Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall do it. Anyone else who approaches it is to be put to death.
52The Israelites are to set up their tents by divisions, each of them in their own camp under their standard.
53The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant law so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the covenant law."

Chapter 1
1Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying: 2“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male individually, 3from twenty years old and above—all who are able to go to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their armies. 4And with you there shall be a man from every tribe, each one the head of his father’s house.
5“These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: from Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
6from Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
7from Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
8from Issachar, Nethanel the son of Zuar;
9from Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon;
10from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; from Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;

14from Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel;
15from Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”
16These were chosen from the congregation, leaders of their fathers’ tribes, heads of the divisions in Israel.
17Then Moses and Aaron took these men who had been mentioned by name,
18and they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they recited their ancestry by families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, each one individually.
19As the Lord commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai.
20Now the children of Reuben, Israel’s oldest son, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, every male individually, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
21those who were numbered of the tribe of Reuben were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22From the children of Simeon, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, of those who were numbered, according to the number of names, every male individually, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
23those who were numbered of the tribe of Simeon were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24From the children of Gad, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
25those who were numbered of the tribe of Gad were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.
26From the children of Judah, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
27those who were numbered of the tribe of Judah were seventy-four thousand six hundred.
28From the children of Issachar, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
29those who were numbered of the tribe of Issachar were fifty-four thousand four hundred.
30From the children of Zebulun, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
31those who were numbered of the tribe of Zebulun were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
32From the sons of Joseph, the children of Ephraim, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
33those who were numbered of the tribe of Ephraim were forty thousand five hundred.
34From the children of Manasseh, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
35those who were numbered of the tribe of Manasseh were thirty-two thousand two hundred.
36From the children of Benjamin, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
37those who were numbered of the tribe of Benjamin were thirty-five thousand four hundred.
38From the children of Dan, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:

42From the children of Naphtali, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:
43those who were numbered of the tribe of Naphtali were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44These are the ones who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, with the leaders of Israel, twelve men, each one representing his father’s house.
45So all who were numbered of the children of Israel, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war in Israel—
46all who were numbered were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.
47But the Levites were not numbered among them by their fathers’ tribe;
48for the Lord had spoken to Moses, saying:
49“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, nor take a census of them among the children of Israel;
50but you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, over all its furnishings, and over all things that belong to it; they shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they shall attend to it and camp around the tabernacle.
51And when the tabernacle is to go forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.
52The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, everyone by his own camp, everyone by his own standard, according to their armies;
53but the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony.”
Chapter 2
1And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: 2“Everyone of the children of Israel shall camp by his own standard, beside the emblems of his father’s house; they shall camp some distance from the tabernacle of meeting. 3On the east side, toward the rising of the sun, those of the standard of the forces with Judah shall camp according to their armies; and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be the leader of the children of Judah.” 4And his army was numbered at seventy-four thousand six hundred.
5“Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar, and Nethanel the son of Zuar shall be the leader of the children of Issachar.”
6And his army was numbered at fifty-four thousand four hundred.
7“Then comes the tribe of Zebulun, and Eliab the son of Helon shall be the leader of the children of Zebulun.”
8And his army was numbered at fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
9“All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces with Judah, one hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred— these shall break camp first.
10“On the south side shall be the standard of the forces with Reuben according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.”
11And his army was numbered at forty-six thousand five hundred.
12“Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon, and the leader of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.”
13And his army was numbered at fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

21And his army was numbered at thirty-two thousand two hundred.
22“Then comes the tribe of Benjamin, and the leader of the children of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.”
23And his army was numbered at thirty-five thousand four hundred.
24“All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces with Ephraim, one hundred and eight thousand one hundred— they shall be the third to break camp.
25“The standard of the forces with Dan shall be on the north side according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.”
26And his army was numbered at sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
27“Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher, and the leader of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran.”
28And his army was numbered at forty-one thousand five hundred.
29“Then comes the tribe of Naphtali, and the leader of the children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan.”
30And his army was numbered at fifty-three thousand four hundred.
31“All who were numbered of the forces with Dan, one hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred— they shall break camp last, with their standards.”
32These are the ones who were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses. All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.
33But the Levites were not numbered among the children of Israel, just as the Lord commanded Moses.
