Chapter 25

3So Israel became followers of Baal of Peor, and the Lord was angry with Israel. 4And the Lord said to Moses, 'Take all the leaders of the people and execute them in broad daylight before the Lord, so that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.' 5So Moses said to the judges of Israel, 'Each of you kill his men who have become followers of Baal of Peor.'
6Then behold, one of the sons of Israel came and brought to his relatives a Midianite woman, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, while they were weeping at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

3And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel. 4And the Lord said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the Lord against the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may be turned away from Israel. 5And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.
6And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Chapter 25

3So Israel aligned itself with Baal of Peor, and the Lord’s anger burned against Israel. 4The Lord said to Moses, "Take all the leaders of the people and execute them in broad daylight before the Lord so that his burning anger may turn away from Israel."
5So Moses told Israel’s judges, "Kill each of the men who aligned themselves with Baal of Peor."
6An Israelite man came bringing a Midianite woman to his relatives in the sight of Moses and the whole Israelite community while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

Chapter 25

3In this way, Israel joined in the worship of Baal of Peor, causing the Lord’s anger to blaze against his people.
4The Lord issued the following command to Moses: 'Seize all the ringleaders and execute them before the Lord in broad daylight, so his fierce anger will turn away from the people of Israel.'
5So Moses ordered Israel’s judges, 'Each of you must put to death the men under your authority who have joined in worshiping Baal of Peor.'
6Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into his tent, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as everyone was weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

3So Israel yoked himself to Baal of Peor. 3So Israel yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor. And the Lord’s anger burned against them.
4The Lord said to Moses, "Take all the leaders of these people, kill them and expose them in broad daylight before the Lord, so that the Lord’s fierce anger may turn away from Israel."
5So Moses said to Israel’s judges, "Each of you must put to death those of your people who have yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor."
6Then an Israelite man brought into the camp a Midianite woman right before the eyes of Moses and the whole assembly of Israel while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

3So Israel was joined to Baal of Peor, and the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel.
4Then the Lord said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of the people and hang the offenders before the Lord, out in the sun, that the fierce anger of the Lord may turn away from Israel.”
5So Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Every one of you kill his men who were joined to Baal of Peor.”
6And indeed, one of the children of Israel came and presented to his brethren a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.
