Psalms 107:7-42
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 107
7He also had them walk on a straight way, To go to an inhabited city. 8They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His wonders to the sons of mankind! 9For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And He has filled the hungry soul with what is good. 10There were those who lived in darkness and in the shadow of death, Prisoners in misery and chains, 11Because they had rebelled against the words of God And rejected the plan of the Most High. 12Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was no one to help. 13Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses. 14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death And broke their bands apart. 15They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His wonders to the sons of mankind! 16For He has shattered gates of bronze And cut off bars of iron. 17Fools, because of their rebellious way, And because of their guilty deeds, were afflicted. 18Their souls loathed all kinds of food, And they came close to the gates of death. 19Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them from their distresses. 20He sent His word and healed them, And saved them from their destruction. 21They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His wonders to the sons of mankind! 22They shall also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, And tell of His works with joyful singing. 23Those who go down to the sea in ships, Who do business on great waters; 24They have seen the works of the Lord, And His wonders in the deep. 25For He spoke and raised a stormy wind, Which lifted the waves of the sea. 26They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; Their soul melted away in their misery. 27They reeled and staggered like a drunken person, And were at their wits’ end. 28Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses. 29He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed. 30Then they were glad because they were quiet, So He guided them to their desired harbor. 31They shall give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, And for His wonders to the sons of mankind! 32They shall also exalt Him in the congregation of the people, And praise Him at the seat of the elders. 33He turns rivers into a wilderness, And springs of water into a thirsty ground; 34 And a fruitful land into a salt waste, Because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it. 35He turns a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into springs of water; 36And He has the hungry live there, So that they may establish an inhabited city, 37And sow fields and plant vineyards, And gather a fruitful harvest. 38He also blesses them and they multiply greatly, And He does not let their cattle decrease. 39When they become few and lowly Because of oppression, misery, and sorrow, 40He pours contempt upon noblemen And makes them wander in a pathless wasteland. 41But He sets the needy securely on high, away from affliction, And makes his families like a flock. 42The upright see it and are glad; But all injustice shuts its mouth.King James Version

Chapter 107
7He led them by the right path to go to a city where they could live. 8Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all humanity.
9For he has satisfied the thirsty and filled the hungry with good things.
10Others sat in darkness and gloom — prisoners in cruel chains —
11because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the counsel of the Most High.
12He broke their spirits with hard labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
13Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; he saved them from their distress.
14He brought them out of darkness and gloom and broke their chains apart.
15Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all humanity.
16For he has broken down the bronze gates and cut through the iron bars.
17Fools suffered affliction because of their rebellious ways and their iniquities.
18They loathed all food and came near the gates of death.
19Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; he saved them from their distress.
20He sent his word and healed them; he rescued them from the Pit.
21Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all humanity.
22Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and announce his works with shouts of joy.
23Others went to sea in ships, conducting trade on the vast water.
24They saw the Lord’s works, his wondrous works in the deep.
25He spoke and raised a stormy wind that stirred up the waves of the sea.
26Rising up to the sky, sinking down to the depths, their courage melting away in anguish,
27they reeled and staggered like a drunkard, and all their skill was useless.
28Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.
29He stilled the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed.
30They rejoiced when the waves grew quiet. Then he guided them to the harbor they longed for.
31Let them give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love and his wondrous works for all humanity.
32Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.
33He turns rivers into desert, springs into thirsty ground,
34and fruitful land into salty wasteland, because of the wickedness of its inhabitants.
35He turns a desert into a pool, dry land into springs.
36He causes the hungry to settle there, and they establish a city where they can live.
37They sow fields and plant vineyards that yield a fruitful harvest.
38He blesses them, and they multiply greatly; he does not let their livestock decrease.
39When they are diminished and are humbled by cruel oppression and sorrow,
40he pours contempt on nobles and makes them wander in a trackless wasteland.
41But he lifts the needy out of their suffering and makes their families multiply like flocks.
New Living Translation
Chapter 107
7He led them straight to safety, to a city where they could live. 8Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them. 9For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
10Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery.
11They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High.
12That is why he broke them with hard labor; they fell, and no one was there to help them.
13'Lord, help!' they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
14He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains.
15Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
16For he broke down their prison gates of bronze; he cut apart their bars of iron.
17Some were fools; they rebelled and suffered for their sins.
18They couldn’t stand the thought of food, and they were knocking on death’s door.
19'Lord, help!' they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
20He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.
21Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
22Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.
23Some went off to sea in ships, plying the trade routes of the world.
24They, too, observed the Lord’s power in action, his impressive works on the deepest seas.
25He spoke, and the winds rose, stirring up the waves.
26Their ships were tossed to the heavens and plunged again to the depths; the sailors cringed in terror.
27They reeled and staggered like drunkards and were at their wits’ end.
28'Lord, help!' they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
29He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves.
30What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor!
31Let them praise the Lord for his great love and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
32Let them exalt him publicly before the congregation and before the leaders of the nation.
33He changes rivers into deserts, and springs of water into dry, thirsty land.
34He turns the fruitful land into salty wastelands, because of the wickedness of those who live there.
35But he also turns deserts into pools of water, the dry land into springs of water.
36He brings the hungry to settle there and to build their cities.
37They sow their fields, plant their vineyards, and harvest their bumper crops.
38How he blesses them! They raise large families there, and their herds of livestock increase.
39When they decrease in number and become impoverished through oppression, trouble, and sorrow,
40the Lord pours contempt on their princes, causing them to wander in trackless wastelands.
41But he rescues the poor from trouble and increases their families like flocks of sheep.
42The godly will see these things and be glad, while the wicked are struck silent.

Chapter 107
7He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. 8 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! 9For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. 10 Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons, 11for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High. 12So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help. 13 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart. 15 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! 16For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron. 17Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; 18 they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. 19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 20He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. 21 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! 22And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! 23Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; 24they saw the deeds of the Lord, his wondrous works in the deep. 25For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. 26They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; 27they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits ' end. 28 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. 29He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. 30Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. 31 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! 32Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. 33He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground, 34 a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the evil of its inhabitants. 35He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water. 36And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in; 37they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield. 38 By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish. 39When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow, 40 he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes; 41but he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks. 42 The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth.New International Version
Chapter 107
7He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. 8Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
9for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
10Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains,
11because they rebelled against God’s commands and despised the plans of the Most High.
12So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
13Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
14He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.
15Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
16for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.
17Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.
18They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death.
19Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
20He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
21Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
22Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.
23Some went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters.
24They saw the works of the Lord, his wonderful deeds in the deep.
25For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves.
26They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away.
27They reeled and staggered like drunkards; they were at their wits’ end.
28Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.
29He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
30They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.
31Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
32Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.
33He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground,
34and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there.
35He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;
36there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.
37They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest;
38he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish.
39Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow;
40he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste.
41But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.
