Chapter 119
13With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Your mouth. 14I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches. 15I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. 16I shall delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. 17Deal generously with Your servant, That I may live and keep Your word. 18Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your Law. 19I am a stranger on the earth; Do not hide Your commandments from me. 20My soul is crushed with longing For Your ordinances at all times. 21You rebuke the arrogant, the cursed, Who wander from Your commandments. 22Take disgrace and contempt away from me, For I comply with Your testimonies. 23Even though rulers sit and speak against me, Your servant meditates on Your statutes. 24Your testimonies also are my delight; They are my advisers. 25My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word. 26I have told of my ways, and You have answered me; Teach me Your statutes. 27Make me understand the way of Your precepts, And I will meditate on Your wonders. 28My soul weeps because of grief; Strengthen me according to Your word. 29Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Your Law. 30I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Your judgments before me. 31I cling to Your testimonies; Lord, do not put me to shame! 32I shall run the way of Your commandments, For You will enlarge my heart. 33Teach me, the way of Your statutes, Lord, And I shall comply with it to the end. 34Give me understanding, so that I may comply with Your Law And keep it with all my heart. 35Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it. 36Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to dishonest gain. 37Turn my eyes away from looking at what is worthless, And revive me in Your ways. 38Establish Your word to Your servant As that which produces reverence for You. 39Take away my disgrace which I dread, For Your judgments are good. 40Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me through Your righteousness. 41May Your favor also come to me, Lord, Your salvation according to Your word; 42So that I will have an answer for one who taunts me, For I trust in Your word. 43And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, For I wait for Your judgments. 44So I will keep Your Law continually, Forever and ever. 45And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts. 46I will also speak of Your testimonies before kings And shall not be ashamed. 47I will delight in Your commandments, Which I love. 48And I shall lift up my hands to Your commandments, Which I love; And I will meditate on Your statutes. 49Remember the word to Your servant, In which You have made me hope. 50This is my comfort in my misery, That Your word has revived me. 51The arrogant utterly deride me, Yet I do not turn aside from Your Law. 52I have remembered Your judgments from of old, Lord, And comfort myself. 53Burning indignation has seized me because of the wicked, Who abandon Your Law. 54Your statutes are my songs In the house of my pilgrimage. 55Lord, I remember Your name in the night, And keep Your Law. 56This has become mine, That I comply with Your precepts. 57The Lord is my portion; I have promised to keep Your words. 58I sought Your favor with all my heart; Be gracious to me according to Your word. 59I considered my ways And turned my feet to Your testimonies. 60I hurried and did not delay To keep Your commandments. 61The snares of the wicked have surrounded me, But I have not forgotten Your Law. 62At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You Because of Your righteous judgments. 63I am a companion to all those who fear You, And to those who keep Your precepts. 64The earth is full of Your goodness, Lord; Teach me Your statutes. 65You have treated Your servant well, Lord, according to Your word. 66Teach me good discernment and knowledge, For I believe in Your commandments. 67Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word. 68You are good and You do good; Teach me Your statutes. 69The arrogant have forged a lie against me; With all my heart I will comply with Your precepts. 70Their heart is insensitive, like fat, But I delight in Your Law. 71It is good for me that I was afflicted, So that I may learn Your statutes. 72The Law of Your mouth is better to me Than thousands of gold and silver pieces. 73Your hands made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, so that I may learn Your commandments. 74May those who fear You see me and be glad, Because I wait for Your word. 75I know, Lord, that Your judgments are righteous, And that You have afflicted me in faithfulness. 76May Your favor comfort me, According to Your word to Your servant. 77May Your compassion come to me so that I may live, For Your Law is my delight. 78May the arrogant be put to shame, because they lead me astray with a lie; But I shall meditate on Your precepts. 79May those who fear You turn to me, And those who know Your testimonies. 80May my heart be blameless in Your statutes, So that I will not be ashamed. 81My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word. 82My eyes fail with longing for Your word, While I say, 'When will You comfort me?' 83Though I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget Your statutes. 84How many are the days of Your servant? When will You execute judgment on those who persecute me? 85The arrogant have dug pits for me, People who are not in accord with Your Law. 86All Your commandments are faithful; They have persecuted me with a lie; help me! 87They almost destroyed me on earth, But as for me, I did not abandon Your precepts. 88Revive me according to Your faithfulness, So that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth. 89Forever, Lord, Your word stands in heaven. 90Your faithfulness continues throughout generations; You established the earth, and it stands. 91They stand this day by Your ordinances, For all things are Your servants. 92If Your Law had not been my delight, Then I would have perished in my misery. 93I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have revived me. 94I am Yours, save me; For I have sought Your precepts. 95The wicked wait for me to destroy me; I will diligently consider Your testimonies. 96I have seen a limit to all perfection; Your commandment is exceedingly broad. 97How I love Your Law! It is my meditation all the day. 98Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For they are ever mine. 99I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. 100I understand more than those who are old, Because I have complied with Your precepts. 101I have restrained my feet from every evil way, So that I may keep Your word. 102I have not turned aside from Your judgments, For You Yourself have taught me. 103How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. 105Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. 106I have sworn and I will confirm it, That I will keep Your righteous judgments. 107I am exceedingly afflicted; Revive me, Lord, according to Your word. 108Be pleased to accept the voluntary offerings of my mouth, Lord, And teach me Your judgments. 109My life is continually in my hand, Yet I do not forget Your Law. 110The wicked have set a trap for me, Yet I have not wandered from Your precepts. 111I have inherited Your testimonies forever, For they are the joy of my heart. 112I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, even to the end. 113I hate those who are double-minded, But I love Your Law. 114You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word. 115Leave me, you evildoers, So that I may comply with the commandments of my God. 116Sustain me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope. 117Sustain me so that I may be safe, That I may have regard for Your statutes continually. 118You have rejected all those who stray from Your statutes, For their deceitfulness is useless. 119You have removed all the wicked of the earth like impurities; Therefore I love Your testimonies. 120My flesh trembles from the fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments. 121I have done justice and righteousness; Do not leave me to my oppressors. 122Be a guarantor for Your servant for good; Do not let the arrogant oppress me. 123My eyes fail with longing for Your salvation, And for Your righteous word. 124Deal with Your servant according to Your graciousness, And teach me Your statutes. 125I am Your servant; give me understanding, So that I may know Your testimonies. 126It is time for the Lord to act, For they have broken Your Law. 127Therefore I love Your commandments Above gold, yes, above pure gold. 128Therefore I carefully follow all Your precepts concerning everything, I hate every false way. 129Your testimonies are wonderful; Therefore my soul complies with them. 130The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. 131I opened my mouth wide and panted, For I longed for Your commandments. 132Turn to me and be gracious to me, As is right for those who love Your name. 133Establish my footsteps in Your word, And do not let any wrongdoing have power over me. 134Redeem me from oppression by man, So that I may keep Your precepts. 135Make Your face shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your statutes. 136My eyes shed streams of water, Because they do not keep Your Law. 137You are righteous, Lord, And Your judgments are right. 138You have commanded Your testimonies in righteousness And great faithfulness. 139My zeal has consumed me, Because my enemies have forgotten Your words. 140Your word is very pure, Therefore Your servant loves it. 141I am small and despised, Yet I do not forget Your precepts. 142Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your Law is truth. 143Trouble and anguish have come upon me, Yet Your commandments are my delight. 144Your testimonies are righteous forever; Give me understanding that I may live.King James Version
16I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
17GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
24Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
25DALETH. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.
32I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
33HE. Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.
40Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.
41VAU. Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word.
48My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.
49ZAIN. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.
56This I had, because I kept thy precepts.
57CHETH. Thou art my portion, O Lord: I have said that I would keep thy words.
64The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
65TETH. Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O Lord, according unto thy word.
72The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.
73JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.
76Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.
80Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed.
81CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.
88Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.
89LAMED. For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.
96I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.
97MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
104Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
105NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
112I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.
113SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.
120My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.
121AIN. I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors.
128Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

13With my lips I proclaim all the judgments from your mouth. 14I rejoice in the way revealed by your decrees as much as in all riches. 15I will meditate on your precepts and think about your ways. 16I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. 17Deal generously with your servant so that I might live; then I will keep your word. 18Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wondrous things from your instruction. 19I am a resident alien on earth; do not hide your commands from me. 20I am continually overcome with longing for your judgments. 21You rebuke the arrogant, the ones under a curse, who wander from your commands. 22Take insult and contempt away from me, for I have kept your decrees. 23Though princes sit together speaking against me, your servant will think about your statutes; 24your decrees are my delight and my counselors. 25My life is down in the dust; give me life through your word. 26I told you about my life, and you answered me; teach me your statutes. 27Help me understand the meaning of your precepts so that I can meditate on your wonders. 28I am weary from grief; strengthen me through your word. 29Keep me from the way of deceit and graciously give me your instruction. 30I have chosen the way of truth; I have set your ordinances before me. 31I cling to your decrees; Lord, do not put me to shame. 32I pursue the way of your commands, for you broaden my understanding. 33Teach me, Lord, the meaning of your statutes, and I will always keep them. 34Help me understand your instruction, and I will obey it and follow it with all my heart. 35Help me stay on the path of your commands, for I take pleasure in it. 36Turn my heart to your decrees and not to dishonest profit. 37Turn my eyes from looking at what is worthless; give me life in your ways. 38Confirm what you said to your servant, for it produces reverence for you. 39Turn away the disgrace I dread; indeed, your judgments are good. 40How I long for your precepts! Chapter 119
13I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us. 14I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches. 15I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. 16I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word.
17Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.
18Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.
19I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me!
20I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations.
21You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed.
22Don’t let them scorn and insult me, for I have obeyed your laws.
23Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees.
24Your laws please me; they give me wise advice.
25I lie in the dust; revive me by your word.
26I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees.
27Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.
28I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word.
29Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.
30I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.
31I cling to your laws. Lord, don’t let me be put to shame!
32I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding.
33Teach me your decrees, O Lord; I will keep them to the end.
34Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart.
35Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.
36Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!
37Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
38Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you.
39Help me abandon my shameful ways; for your regulations are good.
40I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness.
41Lord, give me your unfailing love, the salvation that you promised me.
42Then I can answer those who taunt me, for I trust in your word.
43Do not snatch your word of truth from me, for your regulations are my only hope.
44I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever.
45I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.
46I will speak to kings about your laws, and I will not be ashamed.
47How I delight in your commands! How I love them!
48I honor and love your commands. I meditate on your decrees.
49Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.
50Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.
51The proud hold me in utter contempt, but I do not turn away from your instructions.
52I meditate on your age-old regulations; O Lord, they comfort me.
53I become furious with the wicked, because they reject your instructions.
54Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.
55I reflect at night on who you are, O Lord; therefore, I obey your instructions.
56This is how I spend my life: obeying your commandments.
57Lord, you are mine! I promise to obey your words!
58With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised.
59I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws.
60I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.
61Evil people try to drag me into sin, but I am firmly anchored to your instructions.
62I rise at midnight to thank you for your just regulations.
63I am a friend to anyone who fears you — anyone who obeys your commandments.
64O Lord, your unfailing love fills the earth; teach me your decrees.
65You have done many good things for me, Lord, just as you promised.
66I believe in your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge.
67I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.
68You are good and do only good; teach me your decrees.
69Arrogant people smear me with lies, but in truth I obey your commandments with all my heart.
70Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.
71My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.
72Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver.
73You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands.
74May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in your word.
75I know, O Lord, that your regulations are fair; you disciplined me because I needed it.
76Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.
77Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.
78Bring disgrace upon the arrogant people who lied about me; meanwhile, I will concentrate on your commandments.
79Let me be united with all who fear you, with those who know your laws.
80May I be blameless in keeping your decrees; then I will never be ashamed.
81I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.
82My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me?
83I am shriveled like a wineskin in the smoke, but I have not forgotten to obey your decrees.
84How long must I wait? When will you punish those who persecute me?
85These arrogant people who hate your instructions have dug deep pits to trap me.
86All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause.
87They almost finished me off, but I refused to abandon your commandments.
88In your unfailing love, spare my life; then I can continue to obey your laws.
89Your eternal word, O Lord, stands firm in heaven.
90Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.
91Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans.
92If your instructions hadn’t sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery.
93I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.
94I am yours; rescue me! For I have worked hard at obeying your commandments.
95Though the wicked hide along the way to kill me, I will quietly keep my mind on your laws.
96Even perfection has its limits, but your commands have no limit.
97Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.
98Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.
99Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.
100I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.
101I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word.
102I haven’t turned away from your regulations, for you have taught me well.
103How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.
104Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life.
105Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
106I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.
107I have suffered much, O Lord; restore my life again as you promised.
108Lord, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations.
109My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.
110The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments.
111Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.
112I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end.
113I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions.
114You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.
115Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God.
116Lord, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed.

13With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth. 14In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. 15I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. 16I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.
17 Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and keep your word.
18Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.
19I am a sojourner on the earth; hide not your commandments from me!
20My soul is consumed with longing for your rules at all times.
21You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments.
22Take away from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies.
