Chapter 39

8Save me from all my wrongdoings; Do not make me an object of reproach for the foolish. 9I have become mute, I do not open my mouth, Because it is You who have done it. 10Remove Your plague from me; Because of the opposition of Your hand I am perishing. 11With rebukes You punish a person for wrongdoing; You consume like a moth what is precious to him; Certainly all mankind is mere breath! 8Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.
9I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.
10Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.
11When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.
