Chapter 59

9 Because of his strength I will watch for You, For God is my refuge. 10 My God in His faithfulness will meet me; God will let me look triumphantly upon my enemies. 11Do not kill them, or my people will forget; Scatter them by Your power and bring them down, Lord, our shield. 12 On account of the sin of their mouths and the words of their lips, May they even be caught in their pride, And on account of curses and lies which they tell. 13 Destroy them in wrath, destroy them so that they will no longer exist; So that people may know that God rules in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah

9Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
10The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
11Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

9I will keep watch for you, my strength, because God is my stronghold.
10My faithful God will come to meet me; God will let me look down on my adversaries. 11Do not kill them; otherwise, my people will forget. By your power, make them homeless wanderers and bring them down, Lord, our shield. 12For the sin of their mouths and the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. They utter curses and lies.
13Consume them in rage; consume them until they are gone. Then people will know throughout the earth that God rules over Jacob. Selah

Chapter 59

9You are my strength; I wait for you to rescue me, for you, O God, are my fortress. 10In his unfailing love, my God will stand with me. He will let me look down in triumph on all my enemies.
11Don’t kill them, for my people soon forget such lessons; stagger them with your power, and bring them to their knees, O Lord our shield. 12Because of the sinful things they say, because of the evil that is on their lips, let them be captured by their pride, their curses, and their lies.
13Destroy them in your anger! Wipe them out completely! Then the whole world will know that God reigns in Israel. Interlude
