Psalms 61-63
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 61
1Hear my cry, God; Give Your attention to my prayer. 2From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3For You have been a refuge for me, A tower of strength against the enemy. 4Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah 5For You have heard my vows, God; You have given me the inheritance of those who fear Your name. 6You will prolong the king’s life; His years will be like generations. 7He will sit enthroned before God forever; Appoint faithfulness and truth that they may watch over him. 8So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may pay my vows day by day.Chapter 62
1 My soul waits in silence for God alone; From Him comes my salvation. 2He alone is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I will not be greatly shaken. 3How long will you attack a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? 4They have planned only to thrust him down from his high position; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouth, But inwardly they curse. Selah 5My soul, wait in silence for God alone, For my hope is from Him. 6He alone is my rock and my salvation, My refuge; I will not be shaken. 7My salvation and my glory rest on God; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. 8Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your hearts before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah 9People of low standing are only breath, and people of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up. Together they are lighter than breath. 10Do not trust in oppression, And do not vainly rely on robbery; If wealth increases, do not set your heart on it. 11God has spoken once; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God; 12And faithfulness is Yours, Lord, For You reward a person according to his work.Chapter 63
1 God, You are my God; I shall be watching for You; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and exhausted land where there is no water. 2So have I seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and glory. 3Because Your favor is better than life, My lips will praise You. 4So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5My soul is satisfied as with fat and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips. 6When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, 7For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. 8My soul clings to You; Your right hand takes hold of me. 9But those who seek my life to destroy it, Will go into the depths of the earth. 10 They will be turned over to the power of the sword; They will be a prey for foxes. 11But the king will rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him will boast, For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.King James Version

Chapter 61
1For the choir director: on stringed instruments. Of David. God, hear my cry; pay attention to my prayer. 2I call to you from the ends of the earth when my heart is without strength. Lead me to a rock that is high above me, 3for you have been a refuge for me, a strong tower in the face of the enemy.
4I will dwell in your tent forever and take refuge under the shelter of your wings. Selah
5God, you have heard my vows; you have given a heritage to those who fear your name.
6Add days to the king’s life; may his years span many generations.
7May he sit enthroned before God forever. Appoint faithful love and truth to guard him.
8Then I will continually sing of your name, fulfilling my vows day by day.
2He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will never be shaken.
3How long will you threaten a man? Will all of you attack as if he were a leaning wall or a tottering fence?
4They only plan to bring him down from his high position. They take pleasure in lying; they bless with their mouths, but they curse inwardly. Selah
5Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from him.
6He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken.
7My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock. My refuge is in God.
8Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before him. God is our refuge. Selah
9Common people are only a vapor; important people, an illusion. Together on a scale, they weigh less than a vapor.
10Place no trust in oppression, or false hope in robbery. If wealth increases, don’t set your heart on it.
11God has spoken once; I have heard this twice: strength belongs to God,
12and faithful love belongs to you, Lord. For you repay each according to his works.
2So I gaze on you in the sanctuary to see your strength and your glory.
3My lips will glorify you because your faithful love is better than life.
4So I will bless you as long as I live; at your name, I will lift up my hands.
5You satisfy me as with rich food; my mouth will praise you with joyful lips.
6When I think of you as I lie on my bed, I meditate on you during the night watches
7because you are my helper; I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
8I follow close to you; your right hand holds on to me.
9But those who intend to destroy my life will go into the depths of the earth.
10They will be given over to the power of the sword; they will become a meal for jackals.
11But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by him will boast, for the mouths of liars will be shut.
New Living Translation
Chapter 61
1O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! 2From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety, 3for you are my safe refuge, a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
5For you have heard my vows, O God. You have given me an inheritance reserved for those who fear your name.
6Add many years to the life of the king! May his years span the generations!
7May he reign under God’s protection forever. May your unfailing love and faithfulness watch over him.
8Then I will sing praises to your name forever as I fulfill my vows each day.
Chapter 62
1I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. 2He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.
5Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him.
6He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.
7My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
11God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you;
12unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done.
Chapter 63
1O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. 2I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. 3Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! 4I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. 5You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.English Standard Version

1 For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. 3How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence? 4They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. 1 O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. 3Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. 4So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. 5My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, 6when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; 7for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. 8My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. 9But those who seek to destroy my life shall go down into the depths of the earth; 10they shall be given over to the power of the sword; they shall be a portion for jackals. 11But the king shall rejoice in God; all who swear by him shall exult, for the mouths of liars will be stopped.New International Version
Chapter 61
1For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. 2From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.
4I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
5For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6Increase the days of the king’s life, his years for many generations.
7May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
8Then I will ever sing in praise of your name and fulfill my vows day after day.
2Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
3How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down— this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
4Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse.
5Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.
6Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
9Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath.
10Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
11One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: "Power belongs to you, God,
12and with you, Lord, is unfailing love"; and, "You reward everyone according to what they have done."
Chapter 63
1A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah. You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. 2I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. 3Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
6On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.
7Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
New King James Version
Chapter 61
1{To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David.} Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. 2From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.
5For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.
6You will prolong the king’s life, His years as many generations.
7He shall abide before God forever. Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!
8So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may daily perform my vows.
Chapter 62
1{To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.} Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. 2He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved. 3How long will you attack a man? You shall be slain, all of you, Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.
5My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.
6He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.
9 Surely men of low degree are a vapor, Men of high degree are a lie; If they are weighed on the scales, They are altogether lighter than vapor.
10Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them.
11God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.
12Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.
