Psalms 74:8-16
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 74
8They said in their heart, 'Let’s completely subdue them.' They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land. 9We do not see our signs; There is no longer any prophet, Nor is there anyone among us who knows how long. 10How long, God, will the enemy taunt You? Shall the enemy treat Your name disrespectfully forever? 11Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Extend it from Your chest and destroy them! 12Yet God is my King from long ago, Who performs acts of salvation in the midst of the earth. 13 You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters. 14 You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness. 15 You broke open springs and torrents; You dried up ever-flowing streams. 16Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun.King James Version
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 74
8They said in their hearts, "Let us oppress them relentlessly." They burned every place throughout the land where God met with us. 9There are no signs for us to see. There is no longer a prophet. And none of us knows how long this will last. 10God, how long will the enemy mock? Will the foe insult your name forever?
11Why do you hold back your hand? Stretch out your right hand and destroy them!
12God my King is from ancient times, performing saving acts on the earth.
13You divided the sea with your strength; you smashed the heads of the sea monsters in the water;
14you crushed the heads of Leviathan; you fed him to the creatures of the desert.
15You opened up springs and streams; you dried up ever-flowing rivers.
16The day is yours, also the night; you established the moon and the sun.
New Living Translation
9We no longer see your miraculous signs. All the prophets are gone, and no one can tell us when it will end.
10How long, O God, will you allow our enemies to insult you? Will you let them dishonor your name forever?
11Why do you hold back your strong right hand? Unleash your powerful fist and destroy them.
12You, O God, are my king from ages past, bringing salvation to the earth.
13You split the sea by your strength and smashed the heads of the sea monsters.
14You crushed the heads of Leviathan and let the desert animals eat him.
15You caused the springs and streams to gush forth, and you dried up rivers that never run dry.
16Both day and night belong to you; you made the starlight and the sun.

Chapter 74
8They said to themselves, "We will utterly subdue them"; they burned all the meeting places of God in the land. 9We do not see our signs; there is no longer any prophet, and there is none among us who knows how long. 10How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever? 11Why do you hold back your hand, your right hand? Take it from the fold of your garment and destroy them! 12Yet God my King is from of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. 13You divided the sea by your might; you broke the heads of the sea monsters on the waters. 14You crushed the heads of Leviathan; you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness. 15You split open springs and brooks; you dried up ever-flowing streams. 16Yours is the day, yours also the night; you have established the heavenly lights and the sun.New International Version
Chapter 74
8They said in their hearts, "We will crush them completely!" They burned every place where God was worshiped in the land. 9We are given no signs from God; no prophets are left, and none of us knows how long this will be. 10How long will the enemy mock you, God? Will the foe revile your name forever?
12But God is my King from long ago; he brings salvation on the earth.
13It was you who split open the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the monster in the waters.
14It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave it as food to the creatures of the desert.
15It was you who opened up springs and streams; you dried up the ever-flowing rivers.
16The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon.
