Psalms 80:10-19
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 80
10The mountains were covered with its shadow, And the cedars of God with its branches. 11It was sending out its branches to the sea And its shoots to the Euphrates River. 12Why have You broken down its hedges, So that all who pass that way pick its fruit? 13A boar from the forest eats it away, And whatever moves in the field feeds on it. 14God of armies, do turn back; Look down from heaven and see, and take care of this vine, 15The shoot which Your right hand has planted, And of the son whom You have strengthened for Yourself. 16It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish from the rebuke of Your face. 17Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself. 18Then we will not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name. 19Lord God of armies, restore us; Make Your face shine upon us, and we will be saved.King James Version
Christian Standard Bible
11It sent out sprouts toward the Sea and shoots toward the River.
12Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its fruit?
13Boars from the forest tear at it and creatures of the field feed on it.
14Return, God of Armies. Look down from heaven and see; take care of this vine,
15the root your right hand planted, the son that you made strong for yourself.
16It was cut down and burned; they perish at the rebuke of your countenance.
17Let your hand be with the man at your right hand, with the son of man you have made strong for yourself.
18Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name.
19Restore us, Lord, God of Armies; make your face shine on us, so that we may be saved.
New Living Translation
Chapter 80
10Our shade covered the mountains; our branches covered the mighty cedars. 11We spread our branches west to the Mediterranean Sea; our shoots spread east to the Euphrates River. 12But now, why have you broken down our walls so that all who pass by may steal our fruit? 13The wild boar from the forest devours it, and the wild animals feed on it.
14Come back, we beg you, O God of Heaven’s Armies. Look down from heaven and see our plight. Take care of this grapevine
15that you yourself have planted, this son you have raised for yourself.
16For we are chopped up and burned by our enemies. May they perish at the sight of your frown.
17Strengthen the man you love, the son of your choice.
18Then we will never abandon you again. Revive us so we can call on your name once more.
English Standard Version
Chapter 80
10The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches. 11It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River. 12Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit? 13 The boar from the forest ravages it, and all that move in the field feed on it. 14Turn again, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine, 15the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself. 16They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your face! 17But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself! 18Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name! 19 Restore us, O Lord God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved!New International Version
11Its branches reached as far as the Sea, its shoots as far as the River.
12Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its grapes?
13Boars from the forest ravage it, and insects from the fields feed on it.
14Return to us, God Almighty! Look down from heaven and see! Watch over this vine,
