Chapter 1

14So the angel who was speaking with me said to me, 'Proclaim, saying, ‘This is what the Lord of armies says: 'I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and Zion. 15But I am very angry with the nations who are carefree; for while I was only a little angry, they furthered the disaster.'

14So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. 15And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

14So the angel who was speaking with me said, "Proclaim: The Lord of Armies says: I am extremely jealous for Jerusalem and Zion. 15I am fiercely angry with the nations that are at ease, for I was a little angry, but they made the destruction worse.

14Then the angel said to me, 'Shout this message for all to hear: ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: My love for Jerusalem and Mount Zion is passionate and strong. 15But I am very angry with the other nations that are now enjoying peace and security. I was only a little angry with my people, but the nations inflicted harm on them far beyond my intentions.
