What does 1 Kings 14:28 mean?
ESV: And as often as the king went into the house of the Lord, the guard carried them and brought them back to the guardroom.
NIV: Whenever the king went to the Lord’s temple, the guards bore the shields, and afterward they returned them to the guardroom.
NASB: And it happened as often as the king entered the house of the Lord, that the guards would carry them and would bring them back into the guards’ room.
CSB: Whenever the king entered the Lord’s temple, the guards would carry the shields, then they would take them back to the armory.
NLT: Whenever the king went to the Temple of the Lord, the guards would also take the shields and then return them to the guardroom.
