What does 2 Kings 2:4 mean?
ESV: Elijah said to him, "Elisha, please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho." But he said, "As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you." So they came to Jericho.
NIV: Then Elijah said to him, "Stay here, Elisha; the Lord has sent me to Jericho." And he replied, "As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you." So they went to Jericho.
NASB: And Elijah said to him, 'Elisha, please stay here, for the Lord has sent me to Jericho.' But he said, 'As surely as the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.' So they came to Jericho.
