What does 2 Kings 6:31 mean?
ESV: and he said, "May God do so to me and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today."
NIV: He said, "May God deal with me, be it ever so severely, if the head of Elisha son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today!"
NASB: Then he said, 'May God do so to me and more so, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat remains on him today.'
CSB: He announced, "May God punish me and do so severely if the head of Elisha son of Shaphat remains on his shoulders today."
