2 Samuel 22:23 - Printer Friendly

ESV: For all his rules were before me, and from his statutes I did not turn aside.

NIV: All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees.

NASB: For all His ordinances were before me, And as for His statutes, I did not deviate from them.

CSB: Indeed, I let all his ordinances guide me and have not disregarded his statutes.

NLT: I have followed all his regulations; I have never abandoned his decrees.

KJV: For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

Second Samuel continues the story of David, who will become king over Judah. The other tribes of Israel are resistant, eventually sparking a civil war. David wins and makes Jerusalem his capital. Early success is followed by moral failure and controversy in David's house. The book of 1 Kings will begin by detailing David's decline and death.
