What does Deuteronomy 8:16 mean?
ESV: who fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end.
NIV: He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you.
NASB: In the wilderness it was He who fed you manna which your fathers did not know, in order to humble you and in order to put you to the test, to do good for you in the end.
CSB: He fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers had not known, in order to humble and test you, so that in the end he might cause you to prosper.
