What does Ecclesiastes 12:13 mean?
ESV: The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
NIV: Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
NASB: The conclusion, when everything has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.
CSB: When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: fear God and keep his commands, because this is for all humanity.
NLT: That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
KJV: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
NKJV: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.
