What does Exodus 24:11 mean?
ESV: And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank.
NIV: But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.
NASB: Yet He did not reach out with His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they saw God, and they ate and drank.
CSB: God did not harm the Israelite nobles; they saw him, and they ate and drank.

Book Summary:
The book of Exodus establishes God's covenant relationship with the full-fledged nation of Israel. The descendants of Abraham prosper after settling in Egypt, only to be enslaved by a fearful, hateful Egyptian Pharaoh. God appoints Moses to lead the people out of this bondage. Moses serves as God's spokesman, as the Lord brings plagues and judgments on Egypt, leading to the release of Israel.
