What does Exodus 38:7 mean?
ESV: And he put the poles through the rings on the sides of the altar to carry it with them. He made it hollow, with boards.
NIV: They inserted the poles into the rings so they would be on the sides of the altar for carrying it. They made it hollow, out of boards.
NASB: Then he inserted the poles into the rings on the sides of the altar, with which to carry it. He made it hollow with planks.

Book Summary:
The book of Exodus establishes God's covenant relationship with the full-fledged nation of Israel. The descendants of Abraham prosper after settling in Egypt, only to be enslaved by a fearful, hateful Egyptian Pharaoh. God appoints Moses to lead the people out of this bondage.
