What does Ezra 4:24 mean?
ESV: Then the work on the house of God that is in Jerusalem stopped, and it ceased until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
NIV: Thus the work on the house of God in Jerusalem came to a standstill until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
NASB: Then work on the house of God in Jerusalem was discontinued, and it was stopped until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
CSB: Now the construction of God’s house in Jerusalem had stopped and remained at a standstill until the second year of the reign of King Darius of Persia.
