What does Joshua 6:1 mean?
ESV: Now Jericho was shut up inside and outside because of the people of Israel. None went out, and none came in.
NIV: Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in.
NASB: Now Jericho was tightly shut because of the sons of Israel; no one went out and no one came in.
CSB: Now Jericho was strongly fortified because of the Israelites—no one leaving or entering.
NLT: Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut because the people were afraid of the Israelites. No one was allowed to go out or in.
