What does 1 Chronicles 21:4 mean?
ESV: But the king’s word prevailed against Joab. So Joab departed and went throughout all Israel and came back to Jerusalem.
NIV: The king's word, however, overruled Joab; so Joab left and went throughout Israel and then came back to Jerusalem.
NASB: Nevertheless, the king’s word prevailed against Joab. Therefore, Joab departed and went throughout Israel, and came to Jerusalem.
