What does 1 Chronicles 26:29 mean?
ESV: Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were appointed to external duties for Israel, as officers and judges.
NIV: From the Izharites: Kenaniah and his sons were assigned duties away from the temple, as officials and judges over Israel.
NASB: As for the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were assigned to outside duties for Israel, as officers and judges.
CSB: From the Izrahites: Chenaniah and his sons had duties outside the temple as officers and judges over Israel.
NLT: From the clan of Izhar came Kenaniah. He and his sons were given administrative responsibilities over Israel as officials and judges.
