What does 1 Chronicles 7:11 mean?
ESV: All these were the sons of Jediael according to the heads of their fathers’ houses, mighty warriors, 17,200, able to go to war.
NIV: All these sons of Jediael were heads of families. There were 17,200 fighting men ready to go out to war.
NASB: All these were sons of Jediael, according to the heads of their fathers’ households, 17,200 valiant warriors who were ready to go out with the army to war.
CSB: All these sons of Jediael listed by family heads were valiant warriors; there were 17,200 who could serve in the army.
NLT: Each of them was the leader of an ancestral clan. From these clans the total number of mighty warriors ready for war was 17,200.
