What does 1 Samuel 13:13 mean?
ESV: And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the command of the LORD your God, with which he commanded you. For then the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
NIV: You have done a foolish thing,' Samuel said. 'You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time.
NASB: But Samuel said to Saul, 'You have acted foolishly! You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, for the Lord would now have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

Book Summary:
First Samuel introduces the key figures who led Israel after the era of the judges.
