What does 1 Samuel 23:9 mean?
ESV: David knew that Saul was plotting harm against him. And he said to Abiathar the priest, “Bring the ephod here.”
NIV: When David learned that Saul was plotting against him, he said to Abiathar the priest, 'Bring the ephod.'
NASB: But David knew that Saul was plotting evil against him; so he said to Abiathar the priest, 'Bring the ephod here.'
CSB: When David learned that Saul was plotting evil against him, he said to the priest Abiathar, "Bring the ephod."

Book Summary:
First Samuel introduces the key figures who led Israel after the era of the judges.
